The street was named after Miguel Bombarda, an illustrious physician with connections to the Portuguese republican regime. Nowadays, this is one of the city main streets with its dozens of art galleries. At least six times a year, the art galleries premiere Portuguese and foreign artists exhibits, with lots of entertainment that attract all sort of audiences, art investors, artists, fans and amateurs.

On this 196 feet street, you will find plenty of restaurants, bookshops and design, music, alternative furniture and fashion shops, among others. These shops are open until late, and music and entertainment are a constant presence.
